How does it work?

Drop your video, place the playhead wherever you want to split it and press S: the video is split into several clips. Delete the ones you do not need.

In the export panel, turn on “Export each clip separately”: each part is encoded in its own MP4 file, then downloaded one after the other (part-1, part-2…). Your browser may ask you to allow multiple downloads.

Without this option, the remaining parts are joined into a single video.

A 3-minute video in 3 parts

Split at 1:00 and 2:00: you get three one-minute clips. Separate export produces three MP4 files of about 59 MB each in 1080p, or 37 MB in 720p.

Clips for social media

From an 8-minute interview, keep three answers of 45 s, 30 s and 55 s and delete the rest. Separate export creates three files ready to post, 2 min 10 s in total.

Frequently asked questions

How many parts can I create?
As many as you need, as long as each part lasts at least a tenth of a second. The files are created one at a time so as not to overload the browser’s memory.
Can I split at a precise point?
Yes: place the playhead with the mouse, then adjust frame by frame with the ← and → arrows before pressing S. Shift + arrow moves by one second.
Why was only one file downloaded?
Some browsers ask for permission to download several files from the same page: allow it. The “Download again” links in the export panel also let you retrieve each part.
Is there a length or size limit?
The final video can last up to 10 minutes, because the file is created in the browser’s memory. Imported videos can be up to 2 GB, audio files 500 MB and images 50 MB. For a long project, close other tabs and prefer exporting in 720p.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
No. Files are read, edited and encoded in your browser, on your device. No video, image or music is uploaded: you can even disconnect once the page has loaded. Closing the tab erases the project.
