How does it work?

Drop your video: the clip is selected. Choose the speed on the right: 0.5x (slow motion), 1x, 1.5x or 2x (fast motion). The clip’s duration in the timeline adjusts straight away.

To change the speed of just one section, split the video before and after it (S key) and set the speed of that piece alone.

The sound follows the video without changing pitch: voices stay natural, neither high-pitched nor deep.

Speeding up a tutorial

A 6-minute demo played at 1.5x lasts 4 minutes; at 2x, it lasts 3 minutes. The voice stays understandable and keeps its tone.

Slow motion on one section

In a 20 s video, split at 0:08 and 0:11, then set that 3 s piece to 0.5x: it lasts 6 s, and the final video 23 seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Which speeds are available?
0.5x (twice as slow), 1x, 1.5x and 2x (twice as fast). The exported video stays at 30 frames per second.
Does the voice become high-pitched when sped up?
No: the pitch of the sound is preserved, as with the speed controls of video players. At 2x, speech stays understandable.
Is slow motion smooth?
At 0.5x, each source frame is shown twice: the motion is slower but gains no in-between frames. A video filmed at 60 frames per second gives the smoothest slow motion.
Is there a length or size limit?
The final video can last up to 10 minutes, because the file is created in the browser’s memory. Imported videos can be up to 2 GB, audio files 500 MB and images 50 MB. For a long project, close other tabs and prefer exporting in 720p.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
No. Files are read, edited and encoded in your browser, on your device. No video, image or music is uploaded: you can even disconnect once the page has loaded. Closing the tab erases the project.
